We once wrote that America would never be destroyed for lack of organizations, information and warnings. We are probably unique in an abundance of these in this country. But our nation could be brought down if Americans fail to heed the warnings that are everywhere. This to introduce a warning that I have frequently referred to in writing and in personal contacts---that of Communist China. (You'll note that it is usually referred to as just "China," or the "People's Republic of China.")
Red China is in the news again. Last week we mentioned the deadly Chinese pet food and the contaminated tooth paste that was reported to have killed 51 Panamanians, 6,000 tubes of which were seized by nearby Nicaragua. There's more that we need to be concerned about, the worst being imported foods for American consumption. "For years, China has flooded the United States with foods unfit for human consumption, according to US inspection records," reports The New American, 6/11/07.
In a related report, "FDA limits Chinese food additive imports," by Elizabeth Weise and Julie Schmit, in USA Today, "The Food and Drug Administration is enforcing a new import alert that greatly expands its curtailment of some food ingredients imported from China, authorizing border inspectors to detain ingredients used in everything from noodles to breakfast bars." The article mentions raw ingredients used in many products, including vegetable proteins. "The chemical Melamine, used in the manufacture of plastics, was found in the wheat gluten and rice protein that has led to the recall of 5,300 pet food products." Out of reports that 1,950 cats and 2,200 dogs had died from contaminated food, the FDA has confirmed 14 thus far.
"Now for the products to reach U.S. foodmakers, the importers will have to prove to the FDA that they are safe. The ingredients restricted include wheat gluten, rice gluten, rice protein, rice protein concentrate, corn gluten, corn gluten meal, corn by-products, soy protein, soy gluten, mung-bean protein and amino acids." (USA Today)
"In April alone," according to the Chicago Tribune, quoted in The New American (6/11/07), "the U.S. Food and Drug Administration turned back 257 Chinese import shipments, far more than from any other country, FDA records show. At least 137 of them involved food rejected for reasons like 'filthy,' 'salmonella,' or because it contained banned ingredients..."---mostly fish and seafood. But more than seafood, the rejections included teas, bean curd, candy, dried apples, dried peaches and peanut milk. Rejected items often turned up again at U.S. borders.
Joseph Farah, WorldNetDaily, 6/4/07, under the title "Biological War-Fear---Seafood imports from China raised in untreated sewage," reports that China is the leading exporter of seafood to the U.S. while raising its fish products in water contaminated with raw sewage and compensating by using dangerous drugs and chemicals. "But the grave news on China's seafood exports is worsened by the FDA's inability to inspect imports. The percentage of important seafood shipments with samples taken for laboratory inspection has decreased over the past four years...to 0.5% in 2006...while seafood consumption in the U.S. was rising and more of that seafood was coming from China." So far Chinese seafood imports were up 34% over 2006.
However, the Chinese Communists say we shouldn't worry. "Generally speaking, American consumers should not worry too much," said Luo Yunbo, Head of the Food Science and Nutrition Engineering Institute at China's Agricultural University in Beijing. "We select the best products for the international markets." (USA Today) Of course, we know that we can trust the Communists!
Could some of our illnesses be traced to Chinese imports? How do we know? They are a ruthless, totalitarian state, as detailed by Don Feder in "The People's Republic of China: Communist," a comprehensive, factual and astonishing article, copies of which I recently offered on radio and still available for the asking.
Our Constitution Party Platform states: "We reject the trade concept of normal trade relations (Most Favored Nation status), used to curry favor with regimes whose domestic and international policies are abhorrent to decent people everywhere, and which are in fundamental conflict with the vital interests of the United States of America."
As we asked last week, "Have you ever wondered what it would be like when Red China produces and exports to the United States nearly all our essentials? (Let me know if you find any staples made in the U.S.A.---we've run out). The only way we're going to put a halt to their complete dominance of our markets is for Americans to wake up and to begin to "Boycott Red China." When our importers find that they cannot sell communist goods, they'll begin to think about returning our manufacturing to the U.S.A. and re-hiring unemployed Americans. YOU could have an influence!
