The Power of Israel In the United States

Excerpts from the book by James Petras

Clarity Press, Inc. Atlanta, GA, 2006

A review by Robert Sungenis, Ph.D.

In the Old Testament, the nation of Israel became so bad that the great El Shaddai himself could not stand them any longer. After he sent the northern ten tribes off to oblivion in Assyria in 722, he sent the remaining two tribes to Babylon in 587. They returned in 515, but things didn’t get any better. So bad was Israel that God, even the epitome of love and patience that He is, simply could not tolerate them any longer. They were cut off from being his chosen people and to this day only a remnant of Jews have been saved.

Because the Jews were so evil, the name of the Lord God was continually blasphemed among the Gentiles (Isaiah 52:5). St. Paul saw the same problem in his day. The Jews would lie, cheat, steal, murder and adulterate. As it was in the Old Testament, so Paul said in the New: “The name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you” (Romans 2:17-24). Today God’s name is blasphemed among the Palestinians because of the atrocities Israel has perpetrated on them, and James Petras gives us the full blown story that you won’t hear on ABC News, CNN or in the Washington Post, dominated as they are by the Jewish-owned media conglomerates.

The Jews are godless and getting more ungodly with each passing day. God’s name is blasphemed among the Gentiles once again, in this case it is the poor Palestinian refugees that Israel is slaughtering on a daily basis. If I had to re-title this book it would be: “The U.S. and Israel: Murder Incorporated.” It is absolutely heart-wrenching to read the horror of assassination, genocide, goon squads, murder and mayhem in which the United States and Israel are engaging in many parts of the world, but particularly in Palestine. The underlying goal through it all is that the nation state of Israel intends on expanding its already undeclared borders to what is commonly known as “Greater Israel.” They intend on forcing the Palestinians out by making their lives a living hell. They will resort to any breaking of God commandments in order to do so, and while they are doing it they will believe they are being righteous, blinded as they are by sin. It is Phariseeism all over again.

The same pattern of behavior was true when Israel was just beginning as a nation. Genesis 34 tells us about the time that Dinah, the only daughter of Jacob’s children, was kidnapped in Shechem. Instead of just rescuing Dinah, the sons of Jacob, Simeon and Levi, killed all the men, women, children, and livestock and ravaged the city. In response, Jacob their father said:

Ye have troubled me to make me to stink among the inhabitants of the land, among the Canaanites and the Perizzites: and I being few in number, they shall gather themselves together against me, and slay me; and I shall be destroyed, I and my house (Genesis 34:30).

We had a similar situation in Israel not too long ago. One of Israel’s soldiers was taken hostage by a Palestinian resistance group. Petras shows us that in retaliation, Israel waged a full-scale assault, killing men, women and children in their path. This has been the pattern of Israel’s treatment of her neighbors since 1946 when it first entered Palestine from Europe. There was such unbridled destruction of people and property that, like Jacob saw in his day, we have all the signs that the nation of Israel has made itself “stink” among the nations. As Jacob predicted, it may not be too long before their neighbors “shall gather themselves together against me, and slay me; and I shall be destroyed, I and my house.” St. John may have predicted the same when he stated that the “Whore of Babylon” would one day be hated and burned by the Beast and the Ten Horns (the nations).

One can only get a picture of the full horror of what is happening while we sleep at night by reading Petras’ book. It is an easy read and not too long. I have photocopied chapters 6 and 7 to give you an idea of the information that is packed in this book. I guarantee you will have a completely different outlook on Israel and her place in the world after you read it.

Peace in the Middle East can only come if Israel learns her place and ceases trying to resurrect her glory days of the past. Those days are over and they will never return again, for God is not on Israel’s side any longer. He is on the side of Christianity, and what Israel is doing today in Palestine is not Christian by any stretch of the proverbial imagination, no matter what the Protestant evangelicals try to sell the world to fill their coffers. Israel is as ungodly today as they were in St. Paul’s day, and the world, especially the United States, must stop condoning and encouraging its sin. It is the very reason we have been dragged into the war in Iraq and may soon be drawn into a war with Iran or Syria. It is your sons and daughters who will pay the price for this hubris and ungodly imperialism. If the United States does not stop, it will also soon come under God’s judgment and it will be severely punished. For God, it only takes a slight tipping of the scales before death and destruction will come our way. Our sins, even now, are crying out to high heaven for vengeance and this will only be exacerbated if we continue to support the sins of Israel.

Read Petras book and find out how to stop the hemorrhaging.

Weimar Moment" Approaches

Monday, July 16, 2007

Briefly Considered: A "Weimar Moment" Approaches

"We are in danger of having ... a Weimar moment in our politics. German politics was embittered disastrously by the belief that they were on the cusp of victory in 1918 and were stabbed in the back by the civilian leadership that didn't understand Germany's military prowess. There is a constituency in this town that believes we're winning in Iraq, that we have at last figured it out, that the indices of success are there. And if we pull out and have the kind of disastrous consequences, telegenic disastrous consequences, or could have, we're going to have people saying, `We had it won and threw it away.'" --

George F. Will to George Stephanopolous, "This Week," July 15

Shortly before the last election (if that term can be used to apply to a selection process involving two entirely interchangeable contenders), the witty and perceptive Charles Featherstone offered his own warnings about the Weimarization of American politics:

"It is common currency among many committed Republicans that Democrats know nothing about the military and are simply incapable of commanding it properly. America needs a strong Commander-in-Chief, and a wimpy, wussy Democrat more worried about day care, health care, hair care and [illicit assignations with interns] is simply incapable of issuing orders that generals and admirals will respect and obey. Bill Clinton tried to prove otherwise, but his handful of wars and his recreational activities have, I fear, simply reinforced this notion among the Red State Party Faithful.

So, if Kerry [or another Democratic successor to Bush] presides over a withdrawal from Iraq – even the same withdrawal that Bush would have undertaken in virtually the same way – be prepared for the big lie, a "stabbed-in-the-back" theory that will bitterly and angrily poison American politics and society, likely worse than post-Vietnam recriminations damaged our national politics.

Expect to be told – to be lectured and hectored – that were it not for likes of us, for dissent, America would have won, if we had just been as united as we were on September 12, 2001.

Never mind that there was no winning.

During the First World War, the German Imperial government imposed very strict censorship on battle reports. Many at home in Germany had no idea how badly things had gone for the army during the last three months of fighting in 1918. That, combined with the abdication of the government which had waged the war and thus was unable to take responsibility for losing it, allowed an exceptionally poisonous lie to take hold: the `November Criminals,' the socialists and Jews who supposedly sold the nation out, who stabbed in the back and defeated an army that was not beaten on the battlefield. That lie, and the hatred and mistrust it engendered within German society, made it virtually impossible for Germans to govern themselves effectively during the 1920s.

And we all know what that eventually led to."

Even more ominous still is the fact that in terms of the consolidation of power in the presidency, the real "Weimar Moment" happened last October.

A brief aside --

Please forgive the skimpiness of this offering, and expect a lengthier and more fully realized essay as soon as conditions permit.

I offer my deepest and most earnest thanks to the people who have made some incredibly generous donations to me and my family. Your kindness, I am not ashamed to admit, has literally left me in tears. I would ask for your continued prayers on behalf of Korrin, who remains hospitalized and is not making any improvement.

Thanks again. God bless all of you.

If This Is Such a Rich Country, Why Are We Getting Squeezed?

If This Is Such a Rich Country, Why Are We Getting Squeezed?

By Heather Boushey and Joshua Holland, AlterNet. Posted =07&date =2007&date =18&act=Go/">July 18, 2007.

While the rich are getting richer, they're slashing social security, medicare and other social programs for the rest of us. What gives?
07182007story

The commercial media is telling us two perfectly contradictory stories about the American economy. The first is how wonderfully rich we are in the United States. The stock market's booming -- some analysts predict the Dow will break the 15,000 this year -- the economy is expanding at a healthy clip, productivity growth is up and unemployment and inflation are relatively low.

But, at the same time, we're also told that we don't have the money to pay for a robust social safety net. When it comes to paying for universal health coverage, affording retirement security for our elderly, investing in programs for the poor or educating our children, we need to pinch pennies. According to this story line, we face a looming "entitlement crisis" -- we won't be able to afford to keep the Baby Boomers in good health and out of poverty, we're told, unless we slash their benefits and privatize the programs that their elderly parents enjoy today.

This is the line we hear from the administration when it talks about entitlement "reform": Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson says that "the biggest economic issue facing our country is the growth in spending on the major entitlement programs: Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security." The solution, according to the Heritage Foundation, is to cut entitlement spending. "Reforming Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid is the only way to get the budget under control," it says.

How can two narratives that are so clearly at odds with each other be so pervasive? Are we seriously supposed to believe that Paris Hilton has to dig between the cushions of her sofa to buy a can of tuna?

What reconciles these two themes is absent from our mainstream economic discourse: We "can't afford" all sorts of programs that are clearly in the common good because most of the benefits of our growing economy have gone to a very small group of Americans, who have, in turn, seen their taxes slashed again and again in the past six years. It's a story that isn't told as often as it should in the commercial press, because it's a supposedly "liberal" narrative -- never mind that über-conservative former Fed Chairman Alan Greenspan told Congress that there is a "really serious problem here, as I've mentioned many times … in the consequent concentration of income that is rising."

Saying that the majority of the country's economic gains in recent years have gone to the top 1 percent of the income ladder understates the trend. You have to cut the pie into even smaller slices to get the full picture. Because, while the bottom half of the top 1 percent of the income distribution have done far better than the average wage slaves, it is a smaller slice still -- the top .01 percent -- that has grabbed most of the gains, seeing an impressive 250 percent increase in income between 1973 and 2005 from an economy that's grown by 160 percent.

An analysis by economists Thomas Piketty and Emmanuel Saez gives us the best perspective of what's going on for everyone else. They found that despite several periods of healthy growth between 1973 and 2005, the average income of all but the top 10 percent of the income ladder -- nine out of ten American families -- fell by 11 percent when adjusted for inflation. For three decades, economic growth in the United States has gone first and foremost to building today's modern Gilded Age. The recipients of those gains don't care about a fully funded Social Security system or a healthy Medicare program -- they don't need them.

Meanwhile, even as the top earners' incomes have gone through the roof, their tax burden has shriveled. At the same time, the share of federal revenues contributed by corporations has declined -- by two-thirds since 1962.

Christians United for Israel call on US to attack Iran immediately

Net News July 19, 2007
Yitzhak Benhorin

WASHINGTON - Thousands of members of Christians United for Israel headed to Capitol Hill on Wednesday to lobby Congress on behalf of the Jewish state.

The group's founder, the Reverend John Hagee, declared, "We support Israel because we are Bible-believing Christians," and said the world needs to see that "the sleeping giant of Christian Zionism has awakened."

Hagee said that the entire Christian world kept quiet during World War II and allowed the genocide of the Jewish people. "This time we will not be silent," Hagee said.

At "A Night to Honor Israel" banquet, Hagee called on President Bush to move the US embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. He also called for American divestment from Iran, which he compared to Nazi Germany as a threat to the Jewish people.

Hagee said Mideast tensions shouldn't be blamed on Israel, but on Islamic radicals and moderate Muslims who won't condemn them.

Hagee continued to warn against Iranian President Ahmadinejad, calling him the new Hitler, saying the Iranian president will use a nuclear bomb to destroy Israel the first chance he gets.

Ahmandinejad must be stopped, Hagee said, calling on the United State to attack Iran immediately.

'We must end the madness'

Former speaker of the US House of Representatives Newt Gingrich, who is considering running for the Republican Party's presidential candidate, said at the event that if US President George W. Bush really wanted to get a message across to Hamas, he should move the US Embassy to Jerusalem "tomorrow morning".

Gingrich charged that instead of fighting to win, President Bush is now pursuing appeasement through a proposed Mideast peace conference.

Comparing that to the attempted appeasement of Nazi Germany at Munich before World War II, Gingrich said, "We don't have a peace process. We have a surrender process."

Gingrich said the United States and western civilization are in a global conflict with radical Islam, and must choose between victory and surrender.

Gary Bauer, who ran for the Republican Party nomination for President of the United States in 2000, also spoke at the rally, saying, "You are Ahmadinejad, Hamas, and Hizbullah's worst nightmare, because you support Israel. They are telling you to give back land. We are telling you, don't give back one inch."

Israeli Ambassador to the US Salai Meridor, told the protesters, "We must end this nightmare. We must end the madness. We must make it clear to the Iranians that all options are on the table and that there is no way they will be allowed to hold nuclear weapons."

Cheney pushes Bush to act on Iran
The balance in the internal White House debate over Iran has shifted back in favour of military action before President George Bush leaves office in 18 months, the Guardian has learned.

My wake-up call: Watch for another 9/11-WMD experience

Online Journal July 20, 2007
Paul Craig Roberts

This is a wake-up call that we are about to experience another 9/11-WMD experience.

The wake-up call is unlikely to be effective, because the American attitude toward government changed fundamentally 70-odd years ago. Prior to the 1930s, Americans were suspicious of government, but with the arrival of the Great Depression, Tojo, and Hitler, President Franklin D. Roosevelt convinced Americans that government existed to protect them from rapacious private interests and foreign threats. Today, Americans are more likely to give the benefit of the doubt to government than they are to family members, friends, and those who would warn them about the government's protection.

Intelligent observers are puzzled that President Bush is persisting in a futile and unpopular war at the obvious expense of his party's electoral chances in 2008.

In the July 18 Los Angeles Times ( “Bush the Albatross” ), Ronald Brownstein reminds us that Bush's behavior is disastrous for his political party. Unpopular presidents “have consistently undercut their party in the next election.” Brownstein reports that “88 percent of voters who disapproved of the retiring president's job performance voted against his party's nominee in past elections. . . . On average, 80 percent of voters who disapproved of a president's performance have voted against his party's candidates even in House races since 1986.”

Brownstein notes that with Bush's dismal approval rating, this implies a total wipeout of the Republicans in 2008.

A number of pundits have concluded that the reason the Democrats have not brought a halt to Bush's follies is that they expect Bush's unpopular policies to provide them with a landslide victory next year.

There is a problem with this reasoning. It assumes that Cheney, Rove , and the Republicans are ignorant of these facts or are content for the Republican Party to be destroyed after Bush has his warmonger-police state fling. After me, the deluge.”

Isn't it more likely that Cheney and Rove have in mind events that will, once again, rally the people behind President Bush and the Republican Party, that is fighting the “war on terror” that the Democrats “want to lose”?

Such events could take a number of forms. As even diehard Republican Patrick J. Buchanan observed on July 17, with three US aircraft carrier battle groups in congested waters off Iran, another Tonkin Gulf incident could easily be engineered to set us at war with Iran.

If Bush's intentions were merely to bomb a nuclear reactor, he would not need three carrier strike forces.

Lately, the administration has switched to blaming Iran for the war in Iraq. The US Senate has already lined up behind the latest lie with a 97-0 vote to condemn Iran.

Alternatively, false flag “terrorist” strikes could be orchestrated in the US. The Bush administration has already infiltrated some dissident groups and encouraged them to participate in terrorist talk, for which they were arrested. It is possible that the administration could provoke some groups to actual acts of violence.

Many Americans dismiss suspicion of their government as treasonous, and most believe conspiracy to be impossible “because someone would talk.”

There is no basis in any known fact for this opinion.

According to polls, 36 percent of the American people disbelieve the 9/11 Commission Report . Despite this lack of confidence, and despite the numerous omissions and errors in the report, it has proven impossible to have an independent investigation of 9/11 or to examine the official explanation in public debate. Even experts and people with a lifetime of distinguished public service are dismissed as “conspiracy theorists,” “kooks,” and “traitors” if they question the official explanation of 9/11. This despite the fact that war in the Middle East, a long-planned goal of Bush's neoconservative administration, could not have been initiated without a “new Pearl Harbor.”

That powerfully constructed steel buildings could suddenly turn to dust because they were struck by two flimsy aluminum airliners and experienced small fires on a few floors that burned for a short time appears unexceptionable to a majority of Americans.

Moreover, people have talked. Hundreds of them. Firefighters, police, janitors, and others report hearing and experiencing a series of explosions in upper floors and massive explosions in the underground basements. This eyewitness testimony was kept under wraps for three or more years until the official explanation had taken root. The oral histories were finally forced loose by Freedom Of Information Act suits. The eyewitness reports of explosion after explosion had no effect.

Larry Silverstein, who received billions of dollars in insurance payments for the destroyed buildings, talked. He said on public television that the order was given “to pull” building 7. His stunning admission had no effect.

The Bush administration is preparing us for more terrorist attacks. The latest intelligence report says that Al Qaeda has regrouped, rebuilt, and has the ability to come after us again. " Al Qaeda will intensify its efforts to put operatives here ," says the report.

Security operatives, such as Michael Chertoff , and various instruments of administration propaganda have warned that we will be attacked before next year's election. Chertoff is not a person who wants to be known as Chicken Little for telling us that the sky is falling.

Bush has the Republican Party in such a mess that it cannot survive without another 9/11. Whether authentic or orchestrated, an attack will activate Bush's new executive orders, which create a dictatorial police state in event of “national emergency.” [See here . ]

The UK government is hand-in-glove with the Bush administration and will provide cover or verification for whatever claim the Bush administration advances. So will the right-wing governments in Canada and Australia. That takes care of the English-speaking world from which contrary explanations might reach the American people.

It is possible that Bush is now too weak, that suspicion is too great, and that there is too much internal resistance in the federal bureaucracy and military for any such scenario. If so, then my prediction prior to the invasion that the US invasion of Iraq will destroy Bush, the Republican Party, and the conservative movement will be proven true. The Democrats' strategy of doing nothing except making sure Bush gets his way will produce the landslide that they expect.

However, this assumes that Cheney, Rove, and their neoconservative allies have lost their cunning and their manipulative skills. It is difficult to imagine a more dangerous assumption for Democrats and the American people to make.

Once the US experiences new attacks, Bush will be vindicated. His voice will be confident as he speaks to the nation:

“My administration knew that there would be more attacks from these terrorists who hate us and our way of life and are determined to destroy every one of us. If only more of you had believed me and supported my war on terror these new attacks would not have happened. Our security efforts were impaired by the Democrats' determined attempts to surrender to the terrorists by forcing our withdrawal from Iraq and by civil libertarian assaults on our necessary security measures. If only more Americans had trusted their government, this would not have happened.”

And so on. Anyone should be able to write the script.

Newt Gingrich responded to questions about former high level military officials who believe 9/11 was an inside job by WeAreChange.org and Infowars.com reporters.

Newt responded, "Anyone who believes 9/11 was not an enemy attack is insane."

The former Speaker of the House clarified that it included former officials such as retired Major General Albert Stubblebine III, who was commanding general of the U.S. Army Intelligence and Bob Bowman, former head of the Star Wars program under President Reagan, who both doubt the official 9/11 account.

Gingrich's dismissal of 9/11 truth is no surprise given that he was a panelist at the September 14, 2001 press conference at the Council on Foreign Relations when Gary Hart infamously said that, "There is a chance for the President of the United States to use this disaster [the very recent Septembe 11 attacks] to carry out what his father-- a phrase his father used I think only once and hasn't been used since-- and that is a New World Order."

Newt Gingrich spoke almost entirely at the book signing event on July 19, 2007 about the threat of terror, al Qaeda, the need to win in Iraq and other related subjects-- more or less on par for the neo-con fear mongering usually devised by Gingrich.

BOHEMIAN GROVE

The reporters also asked Gingrich about whether he had attended Bohemian Grove. He replied, "I'm not there, I'm here." As the summer camp at Bohemian Grove is currently underway, he is clearly pointing out that he isn't attending this year, though he has been before (see picture below circa 1995).

His acknowledgment of the Grove is telling in light of the traditional secrecy surrounding it.

At last count there are: 100+ Senior Military, Law Enforcement and Government Officials, 160+ Architects and Engineers, 140+ Professors, 110+ Survivors and Family Members, 80+ Entertainment and Media Professionals, who have gone on the record questioning 9/11 or believing that 9/11 was an inside job.

Govt Orrogance out of Control

GOVERNMENT ARROGANCE IS OUT OF CONTROL!

By Pastor Chuck Baldwin

July 20, 2007

NewsWithViews.com

I sat dumbfounded as I watched U.S. Attorney Johnny Sutton defend his prosecution of Border Patrol agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean in a recent interview with CNN's Lou Dobbs. To just about anyone who knows anything about this case, the prosecution and subsequent imprisonment of these two agents (who were simply attempting to enforce our nation's immigration and drug laws) is an unfathomable miscarriage of justice. Yet, Sutton has repeatedly (with great smugness and pride, I might add) done everything but brag about putting these two officers in prison.

As I watched Lou Dobbs interview Johnny Sutton, the only word that came close to describing Sutton's despicable attitude was blatant and unadulterated ARROGANCE. But then, arrogance seems to be the common attitude of many, if not most, who work in and for this administration.

After all, underlings often take their cues for both their actions and attitudes from their president and commander-in-chief, do they not? What, then, can we expect from a President who believes himself to be above the laws and Constitution of our country? What can we expect from a Vice President who not only challenges the constraints of constitutional government, but who strains the limits of imagination when he (with a straight face, no less) dares to proclaim that he is exempt from congressional scrutiny, because he is not part of the executive branch of government?

The arrogance of this White House is unprecedented. Richard Nixon was a bully, but at least when he was caught with his hand in the proverbial cookie jar, he had the decency and character to resign.

However, we must admit that this White House does not have a monopoly on arrogance. It has spread like a cancer throughout the federal government and has even infected many in state and local government. If you doubt that, just ask any plumber, electrician, or general contractor what it's like to deal with their local code enforcement, planning and zoning, or licensing and permitting bureaucrats. Ask any merchant who sells firearms what it's like dealing with the BATFE. Ask any sportsman what it's like dealing with certain wildlife officials. Dealing with these government bureaucrats is not only costly, but it's also a giant pain in the neck (not to mention other places of the anatomy). More than that, the abusive attitudes that are commonly endured at the hands and tongues of these little Napoleons can, at times, be downright insulting and even degrading.

As a Christian and minister of the Gospel, it grieves me to see our country's government filled with proud, deceitful, and arrogant men. As a freedom-loving citizen, it worries me, because arrogant men are dangerous.

Arrogance breeds lust for power and fear of freedom; arrogance sees itself above accountability and responsibility; arrogance has no vision for anything beyond its own desires; and arrogance has no conscience regarding its own evildoings.

Arrogant men can justify anything, no matter how ugly or horrific. When their decisions result in the mutilations and deaths of innocent people, they casually and callously call it "collateral damage." And when it comes to protecting their own selfish (and usually secret) agendas, they are like the kings of antiquity who ordered their archers to loose their arrows into the midst of the battlefield and kill everyone--even those in their own armies. Such was the fate of Border Patrol agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean.

Both the Senate and House of Representatives will be holding hearings into the prosecution of Ramos and Compean. The Senate Judiciary Committee conducted an initial hearing this week. As a result of that hearing, committee members Senator Diane Feinstein (D-CA) and Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) have sent President Bush a letter urging him to issue a commutation of the agents' prison sentences. According to the findings of the Senate committee, Sutton was guilty of "prosecutorial overreach."

The House of Representatives will conduct hearings next week, and Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R-CA) has already made it clear that he wants the White House to account for the motivations behind the Justice Department giving blanket immunity to an admitted Mexican drug smuggler and what appears to be the exertion of undue influence by the Mexican government upon the U.S. prosecution of Ramos and Compean. Rohrabacher said, "I think it has a lot to do with an attitude in this administration that refuses to admit any mistakes and protects its own clique but nobody else." Of course, this is what happens when one deals with arrogance: Scooter Libby goes free, while Ramos and Compean go to jail.

Rohrabacher also said his committee "will examine alleged involvement of the Mexican government in the decision to prosecute the agents and others, including Texas Deputy Sheriff Gilmer Hernandez. Sutton's Western District of Texas office also prosecuted Hernandez, who was convicted of violating the civil rights of two illegal aliens injured from shell fragments that struck them as the officer shot at the tires of a van in which they escaped from a routine traffic stop. The van driver had tried to run over Hernandez." (Source: World Net Daily)

One does not have to be a prophet to predict that there will be no commutation or pardon for Ramos and Compean; neither will this White House even acknowledge the Senate committee's request. And any request from the House of Representatives will receive similar treatment. Such is the style of arrogant men.

Sooner or later, it will have to be the American people themselves that decide to put a stop to this out-of-control government arrogance. Perhaps the sentiments of the late Lyn Nofziger will be helpful at this point.

You will recall that Mr. Nofziger served as press secretary in Ronald Reagan's administration as Governor of California and as a White House advisor during the Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan presidencies. Shortly before he passed away, he composed a short treatise entitled "These Things I Believe." Here it is:

"That government should butt out. That freedom is our most precious commodity and if we are not eternally vigilant, government will take it all away. That individual freedom demands individual responsibility. That government is not a necessary good but an unavoidable evil. That the executive branch has grown too strong, the judicial branch too arrogant and the legislative branch too stupid. That political parties have become close to meaningless. That government should work to insure the rights of the individual, not plot to take them away. That government should provide for the national defense and work to insure domestic tranquility. That foreign trade should be fair rather than free. That America should be wary of foreign entanglements. That the tree of liberty needs to be watered from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. That guns do more than protect us from criminals; more importantly, they protect us from the ongoing threat of government. That states are the bulwark of our freedom. That states should have the right to secede from the Union. That once a year we should hang someone in government as an example to his fellows."

I am confident that Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean would not only agree with Mr. Nofziger, but they would also know exactly where to begin.

Constitution Party gears up for a
major organizational/party building effort in Illinois!

Metro-East / Southwestern Regional Meeting

Dear Family, Friends, and Fellow Constitutionalists,

Over the past 40 some years, we have watched as our freedoms have been squandered and taken from us; our jobs and corporations move overseas and illegal immigrants gain more rights than legal citizens of this country.  We have watched a guilty man have his sentence commuted and innocent men who were guarding our borders thrown into Prison.  Time for discussion and focus groups is at an end.  It is time once again for a revolution -- it is time for the citizens of this state and of this country to rise up and take back our government.

I'm proud to announce the first Metro East / Southwestern Regional meeting of the Constitution Party of Illinois.

Time:

7:00pm until 8:30pm

Date:

July 26 (Thursday), 2007

Location:

My House:

304 Lincolnshire Blvd.

Belleville , IL 62221

Phone:

618-355-0737

These meetings will be held every two weeks and during our first meeting, I will be introducing the Constitution Party of Illinois, who we are, what we've accomplished in our short 3 year history, and what our mission and goals are.  A question and answer period will be provided during the last half-hour and plenty of time will be provided afterwards to just hang around to meet everyone.

While we most certainly will be discussing politics, this will not be a political discussion group and while we most certainly will be politically active, this will not be a political action committee.  The purpose for these meetings is to equip and organize the Constitution Party of Illinois' Southwestern Region to run candidates and win elections.  Getting constitutional and principled men and women elected is how we will take back OUR government that was established by the people, of the people and for the people.

In future meetings, we will be discussing what we can do about national, state and local issues.  Candidate Training and yes of course, Constitutional Training (both state and federal) will also be provided.  You will get the opportunity to meet folks who have already decided to run for state and local offices (We have a person who will be running against Dick Durban and others who have decided to run for state representative in their districts).  We'll have the occasional guest speaker.  Most importantly, it will be an opportunity to network with others in the area who like you have become dissatisfied and feel the sting of betrayal by our current government.

There is neither cost nor obligation in attending these meetings and it doesn't matter what your current party affiliation is, ALL ARE WELCOME.  So if you just want to come to see what all the "hub-bub" is about, please feel free to stop by and join us for the evening.  While I'm certain that we will have enough space, would you please RSVP (and by all means, bring a friend) so that I can make sure to provide for enough seating, refreshments and literature.

Please feel free to distribute this information, especially with those in the Southwestern region of Illinois.  I look forward to meeting you all and working together to restore our state and federal governments back to their constitutional limitations.

   Yours in Liberty,

   Randall C. Stufflebeam

   Chairman, Constitution Party of Illinois

Iowa Constitution Party elects officers; launches website!

Iowa Constitution Party elects officers;  launches website!

Something is happening in Iowa and it doesn't have anything to do with the upcoming major party caucuses.  All year long our Constitution Party national office has been receiving  a steady stream of  phone calls and emails  from Iowa voters who are fed up with both the Democrat and Republican parties and who want to join the Constitution Party.

While the Iowa Constitution Party has long enjoyed  very capable leadership under its former chairman,  Greg Moeller,  it  unfortunately often lacked sufficient organizational support--otherwise known as people willing to help out.  With the meltdown of the Bush Administration and public disgust  with major party politicians rising to an all time high, however,  it looks like opportunity is finally knocking for the Constitution Party in Iowa!

After a good deal of communication among  Iowans and between Iowans and our national Constitution Party office,  a re-organizational meeting  was held in Des Moines, Iowa,  on Tuesday, July 17th.  Between 30-40 people from across the state  met,  with the helpful guidance of Constitution Party Midwestern States Co-Chairman,  Scott Bartlett,  to elect officers and get the ball rolling again for the Constitution Party in Iowa.

The following officers were elected:

Chairman-------Mark Richey----Oskaloosa
Co-Chairman--Calvin Stam-----Oskaloosa
Secretary--------Joan Samuel---New Virginia
Treasurer-------Vickie Cope-----Fremont

Congratulations to our new Constitution Party state officers in Iowa!

Also,  please visit the brand new website for the Iowa Constitution Party (still under construction,  but up and running)  located at: www.cpiowa.com .

Coincidentally,  a new Iowa law  will provide the Iowa Constitution Party with an immediate action project which,  when successfully accomplished, will allow the party to be recognized on Iowa's voter registration forms.  Heretofore,  a party had to win 2% of the vote in the previous election before voters could claim affiliation with it on their registration forms.

The Des Moines Register reports that:  "Beginning Jan.1, (200  the state will begin to recognize 'non-party political organizations'  ( the current status of the Constitution Party) on the state voter registration forms..."

"To be identified,  such groups must file a petition with at least 850 signatures."  (This is NOT to be confused with the ballot access petition, which is something  different)

"Those signatures must come from at least five counties and be filed in the Iowa secretary of state's office by October 31."

This is a big step toward allowing political parties other than the "Big Box" parties to be visible and competitive in the state of Iowa!

Best wishes to the Iowa Constitution Party for success in all of its efforts now and in the future!!
