New York State Constitution Party

Constitution Party

News and information

"Scenes from an Italian Restaurant"

It was a big night for the Constitution Party in  New York City on Tuesday, July 17!   Best selling author, Dr. Jerome Corsi, was the guest of honor at the regular monthly dinner held at the midtown Manhattan Bella Napoli Italian Restaurant,  sponsored by the National Traditionalist Caucus,  and this month,  co-sponsored by the New York State Constitution Party (NYSCP).

So many people showed up to buy Dr. Corsi's latest, best selling book,  "The Late, Great USA", (made available by the national Constitution Party) to have their books signed and to enjoy dinner with Dr. Corsi that it was necessary to commandeer most of the restaurant's floor space in order to accommodate all of the dinner guests for this event.   Many thanks to Bella Napoli Restaurant for their great patience and cooperation.

Prior to the dinner Dr. Corsi met with leaders of the NYSCP including State Chairman,  Victor Dedaj;  Downstate Vice-Chairman,  John Kane; National Traditionalist Caucus founder and NYSCP state contact, Don Rosenberg;  former Manchester Union-Leader foreign correspondent, Michael Babrow;   NYSCP legal counsel Eric Dixon and several others,  as well as New Jersey CP national committeeman, Cal Wortman.  While party leaders were naturally disappointed to hear about Dr. Corsi's decision to suspend consideration of running for President, they were very appreciative of his strong words in support of efforts to build the Constitution Party in New York state and across the country.  Dr. Corsi is a registered member of the Constitution Party in neighboring New Jersey.

The New York State Constitution Party will be holding its first general meeting to kick-off its statewide organizational and outreach efforts on Sunday afternoon,  September 9, 2007 at the historic Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen Club on Lexington Ave. in New York City.  Further information on this major event will be forthcoming.

The NYSCP's primary focus will be on making an intensive organizational effort over the next year in preparation for the ballot access petition campaign in New York state which will begin approximately one year from now for the 2008 General Election.  New York requires the submission of the relatively modest amount of 15,000 valid signatures in order to place the party's Presidential ticket on the ballot, but only provides a very limited amount of time in which to collect the signatures and has very exacting specifications and requirements,  including that a minimum number of signatures must come from a minimum number of congressional districts,  all of which make an effective statewide organizational effort absolutely essential.

Those who have friends,  family or associates living in New York state who would be interested in  supporting the efforts of the New York State Constitution Party should encourage them to contact our New York state party affiliate at nysconstitutionparty@yahoo.com or by calling state contact,  Don Rosenberg,  at (212) 685-4689.

NO TIME-BOMB MEXICAN TRUCKS ON OUR HIGHWAYS

NO TIME-BOMB MEXICAN TRUCKS ON OUR HIGHWAYS! FAXDC.COM

Does Mexico influence American Policy?

As with the Dubai Ports debacle, President Bush is willing to risk our national
security by giving unfettered access to America’s transportation infrastructure
to foreign companies and their government sponsors. They are playing of game of
Russian Roulette on America’s highways. Mexico refuses to meet their end of the
bargain yet President Bush rewards them with open access to American highways. It
is the American public who will pay the consequences.

FAXDC.com will not let these time-bomb trucks on our highways to threaten the
lives of Americans and destroy our middle class.

TELL Washington today that we need to PROTECT our sovereignty:
http://www.faxdc.com

Despite the Bush administration's desire to open the border to Mexican trucks,
its own Transportation Department's Inspector General Office reported last year
that safety concerns have not been addressed and the border should stay closed.

Issues preventing implementation included the inability to reach an agreement
with Mexico to permit on-site safety reviews by U.S. inspectors, the inability of
the Mexican government to perform the new criminal history record checks for
Mexican drivers who haul hazardous materials, the need to improve the system for
monitoring Mexican driver records in the U.S. and the lack of operational
weigh-in-motion scales at the 10 busiest crossings.

TELL Washington today that we need to PROTECT our sovereignty:
http://www.faxdc.com

FAXDC.com will call upon the president and Congress to delay the implementation
of the cross-border trucking.

TAKE ACTION NOW!

Vet group plans pro-war blitz

This proves how worried they are about folks hearing the truth about the unjust war.  How can they possibly believe we are "stabilizing Iraq and fighting terrorism"?  Al Qaeda wasn't even in Iraq before we entered!  Now, there is total devastation -- masses of refugees who have left -- over 100,000 Iraqis dead -- $500 billion squandered -- and over 3,600 U.S. killed!

Ending the war is our moral duty.

Vet Group Plans Pro-War Blitz
Military.com By Christian Lowe July 17, 2007

A year ago, Pete Hegseth was leading Soldiers in combat, tamping down the flames of the sectarian bloodletting that erupted after a massive explosion demolished the so-called "Golden Mosque" on his home turf of Samarra, Iraq.

It was tough duty, with firefights and IEDs a near daily occurrence. Despite the danger, he saw value in his mission of stabilizing Iraq and fighting terrorism.

But his fight didn't stop upon his return to high-intensity civilian life in New York City - just the tools he'd use to wage it.

"For me, it's an extension of duty," the Army Reserve officer who served with the 101st Airborne Division in Iraq said. "I call it 'our exposed domestic flank.' That's where the enemy knows we're weak."

So Hegseth teamed with former Marine infantry leader Wade Zirkle and other Iraq and Afghanistan war vets to muster troops to their cause. They started Vets for Freedom in 2006 hoping to energize like-minded vets of recent combat deployments into a fifth column will help influence the war debate.

Too much of the coverage of the war - and the debate about it - comes from people without firsthand knowledge, Hegseth believes. So now he wants those who dodged bullets and roadside bombs to speak out.

"The veterans' voice needs to be a part of this debate and it hasn't been" Hegseth said. "I think they can articulate why we can't give up pretty well."

As casualties mount in Iraq, anti-war veterans groups such as Veterans for Peace and Iraqi Veterans Against the War are gaining clout among lawmakers and presidential candidates opposed to the surge. Another recently-established anti-war veterans' political action committee, VoteVets.org, is credited with the victory of several Democratic war vet candidates in November.

"Veterans know more about this war than anyone else in America," said Paul Rieckhoff, executive director of Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America, a non-political advocacy group. "For the first three years of this war, the conversation has been dominated by the policy wonks, talk show hosts, and politicians. It's about time we got into the next level and had a real debate about the war from the people who've been there."

Recognizing that the political momentum toward withdrawal is gaining strength, Vets for Freedom has organized a surge of its own, launching the "10 Weeks to Testimony" campaign aimed at bolstering its ranks, contacting lawmakers, and reaching out to local groups. These efforts are designed to synch up with the upcoming testimony by overall Iraq commander, Gen. David Petraeus, who will deliver a progress report to Congress in September.

Hegseth is quick to point out his organization is non-political and not affiliated with any political party, but he recognizes the battle to keep the current strategy in Iraq on track takes place in a political arena.

"Vets for Freedom launched our '10 Weeks to Testimony' campaign and committed to leading the charge to support General Petraeus and stop anti-war radicals and politicians on Capitol Hill from undermining the mission in Iraq," according to a Vets for Freedom release. "Unfortunately, despite thousands of phone calls to Capitol Hill this week, even more Republican senators have bowed to political pressure and declared defeat."

Hegseth hopes Vets for Freedom can help hold back the anti-war wave. His group is bolstering its "10 Weeks to Testimony" campaign July 17 with a day-long visit to Capitol Hill where volunteers intend to speak with lawmakers in hopes of bolstering support for the current Iraq strategy. The visits were moved up several months because Vets for Freedom organizers recognized their position was losing ground as Republican war backers inched further away from support in July.

"We were really gearing up towards September and hadn't anticipated Republicans' bailing so quickly," Hegseth said.

So far about 30 veterans have signed up for Tuesday's event, a small fraction of the 5,000 members Vets for Freedom claims on its rolls. But that hasn't taken organizers' eyes off the target.

Hegseth opines, "We want to be the Soldiers' voice for victory - the Soldier's voice that says 'the politicians in Washington are bailing on a war that we are seeing progress on.'"
